Organisational Profile Our client is a highly respected Australian business with a long-standing reputation for quality, innovation, and customer service. With operations across multiple locations and a commitment to continuous improvement, they have established themselves as a trusted leader within their industry. Due to ongoing business requirements, they are seeking an experienced Payroll Officer to join the finance team in a standalone capacity. Reporting directly to the CFO, this role offers the opportunity to take full ownership of payroll while working closely with key stakeholders across the organisation. Position Description Reporting directly to the CFO, your responsibilities will include, but not be limited to: Processing end-to-end fortnightly and monthly payroll through Employment Hero Payroll Reviewing and validating payroll inputs including timesheets, leave applications, employee changes, allowances, deductions, and adjustments Managing payroll administration including new starters, terminations, tax declarations, bank details, superannuation information, and employment changes Ensuring payroll is processed accurately and within required deadlines Investigating and resolving payroll discrepancies and exceptions prior to payroll finalisation Responding to employee payroll-related enquiries including payslips, leave balances, and payroll matters Ensuring compliance with Fair Work legislation, Modern Awards, employment agreements, PAYG withholding, superannuation obligations, and Single Touch Payroll (STP) requirements Preparing payroll reports including payroll summaries, leave liability reports, payroll journals, and cost reporting Assisting with payroll reconciliations, audits, and reporting requirements Maintaining payroll processes, controls, and documentation Identifying opportunities to improve payroll processes, efficiency, and system utilisation within Employment Hero Supporting broader finance administration activities as required Ideal Candidate To be considered successful in this role, you will possess: A minimum of 5 years' experience in a similar end-to-end payroll position Proven experience using Employment Hero Payroll (essential) Strong understanding of Australian payroll legislation, awards, and compliance requirements Exposure to finance and accounting functions Exceptional attention to detail and strong reconciliation skills The ability to work autonomously and effectively manage deadlines Strong communication and stakeholder management skills A proactive and solutions-focused approach to problem-solving Relevant payroll qualifications and/or accounting or business studies will be highly regarded Additional Benefits Flexible part-time opportunity (1 day per week) Standalone role with full ownership of the payroll function Direct access to senior leadership and decision-makers Stable and well-established Australian business Convenient Keysborough Head Office location Supportive and collaborative working environment Opportunity to contribute to process improvements and system enhancements Attractive remuneration package commensurate with experience How to Apply To apply online, please click on the appropriate link below.
